The band
Commander James is a 4-piece originals band based in the Portland, Oregon area. The songs span American styles — equally at home beneath Caribbean palm trees, Pacific Northwest firs, or Georgia loblolly pines.
The songs carry a witty edge with unexpected twists, woven together with heartfelt storytelling. Whether you're discovering them at a winery patio or a lakeside listening room, you'll find something familiar in sounds you haven't heard before.
Style: medium-tempo, lyric-driven, singer-songwriter — Americana / Pacific Northwest roots with a Caribbean tint. Booked for the listening-room slot, not the bar-band slot.
